This may not be the proper group to ask this question though I would be
using the unit in my studio.
I have seen specs on DVD players that play DivX. Does this mean you can
simply burn divx to a dvd and it will play... or is there a particular way
in which they need to be authored.
Thanks for your help.. I know the topic seems almost self explanitory but
I
just want to be sure before I shell out the $$
Thanks in advance,
sailor
If you have a Divx capable DVD player and use a true divx authoring program
like TMPGEnc DVD Author w/Divx, you can create a single Divx file that acts
just like a DVD. What I mean is you can have menus, chapters, navigation etc
all contained in a single .divx file.
So you could create a file with just the video, lets say "picnic2008.divx"
put the file on the disk and push play, or you could take the same video and
author nice menus and chapters. Put the file on a DVD and it will act just
like DVD navigation with menus.
The files are stored on the same way on the DVD. As a data file. You don't
have to burn the authored file any differently.
Cool feature imo
