I'm in the process of digitizing a bunch of old VHS tapes of our kids
growing up. Some of the tapes go back to 1983. I recently obtained a
Panasonic VCR model AG-7750 professional VCR (around 1997 vintage).
... how to
get the Panasonic VCR to recognize the speed at which the video was
recorded on the VHS tape. It seems to play every tape at the same
speed (inches per second) so video recorded using LP or EP plays back
very fast.
It seems quite possible (perhaps likely) that, being a professional
machine, it doesn't even support anything but SP speed.
Thanks for the quick response. I'm afraid you are right. I'm
wondering if connecting my Panasonic consumer VCR/DVD combo unit (with
s-video out) to the AG-7750 will accomplish anything. I'd lose all
the nifty tape controls but would the TBC controls still work? I
guess there's only one way to find out. Again, thanks.
I would bet that the TBC works only for tapes played
in the machine. But it doesn't cost much to try it.
In contrast I bet that it does work on any signal going in or out of the pro
machine just like it would on a vision mixer!
