If I read your specs correctly, you are only planning on 1 GB of RAM? I have 2 GB of RAM in my Vista machine, and when doing video editing, I find the RAM usage to be over 50%. So I would suggest definitely 2 GB of RAM.

I am looking at buy a new computer on which I want to do video editing.
I have a quote for the following from a local computer store.
Intel E6550 Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz,
MSI G33M-FI Motherboard with Firewire,
1024MB DDR2-667MHz Memory,
2 x 250GB SATA II HDD
512MB NX8500GT-TD512E PCI-Express Graphics Card.
Should this be adequate for my needs, or do I upgrade to a faster machine?
I read an article in a recent computer magazine (PC User) which suggested not buying a quad core PC as "few applications support these chips".
TIA
Andy
