How did you "make the movie"?
Where did it come from?
Can you play your AVI file on your computer?
What codec does your AVI file use?
(You can use the Gspot utility to analyze)

From my dvd and yes it plays on my computer with my avi file player
I do not understand about codec for avi file...isn't avi a codec?
I checked gspot and as for video format codec it says n/a
but at the bottom it says the following: Direct show render
Source:MEDIASUBTYPE_MPEG2_PROGRAMing
Video Media:MEDIASUBTYPE_MPEG2_VIDEO
Audio Media:MEDIASUBTYPE_MPEG1AudioPayload

I'm sorry I made a mistake calling it an avi file, because my tv tuner
recorder ATI recorded it in the avi format, but after I tried to
convert it to mpeg and did.

Gspot status says: File is mpeg ( Mpg/mpeg/vob)

So thats it. Any advice would be appreciated:)
