Is MSU Deflick Virtualdub filter compatible with interlaced video?

When dealing with a problem with artifacts after applying a deflicker
filter - in this case MSU deflicker - someone suggested that the filter
might not be compatible with interlaced video. Sounds strange to me that
someone would create such a filter given that you're going to be using it to
tweak captured video, but they felt that if there isn't an option for
interlaced/non-interlaced, it likely isn't compatible.

Anyone know about this?
