The Pioneer tuner is a serious disappointment. Next time I need a DVR, I'll
probably go with Panasonic.

FWIW, I have three Pioneer DVRs (DVR-520H, DVR-633H-S, PRV-9200). All
of their tuners work perfectly well - just as well as my Sony and
Samsung TVs. And I haven't noticed any complaints about Pioneer
tuners at http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=106 .
