Indeed. Highly recommended.
But if you find things "over your head" or encounter
situations you don't find addressed in the books, you
have several online resources here. Some of us here
on the r.v.d and r.v.p newsgroups came from working
in audio before we added video to the mix.
There are also two other newsgroups that may be good for your audio questions... news:rec.audio.pro and
news:rec.arts.movies.production.sound Mr. Rose
(the author of those books) frequently participates in
discusions on r.a.m.p.s
