Hi Ken,
OK; I just downloaded the demo of Cooledit 2.0 and
if you use the "Insert" tab and select "Audio from video
file..." it will be able to add the MPEG-1 Level 2 audio,
right from your video file. (It can also insert an ES file.)
It also had no problem with inserting AC3.
DVD Lab Pro should have no problem using one of the
output wav formats Cooledit provides. DVD Lab Pro
can have a number of audio tracks as I recall, so you
should have no problem adding your corrected one.
Luck;
Ken
my version of Cool Edit 2000: ( 1.0 build 2374 [CE2000] )
was obtained about 5? years ago and does not have any such "Insert" tab.
The files I get to be accepted at all show 100% white noise. Your version
sounds like all I'll need.
My bad, I didn't notice that you had the "2000" version of
Cool Edit, not the Cool Edit Pro. The trial I downloaded is
limited and will only output a few minutes, of processed audio.
On advice from other contributors I also checked out the 'BeSweet' site. I
can understand, what you mean by "MPEG-1 Level 2 audio", but " (It can
also insert an ES file.) " leaves my stranded.
The BeSweet site has heaps of data, a huge FAQ file seems to give detailed
explanations that are apparently written by people who know for people who
know even better? :-)
BeSweet is a favorite of mine but you need to use a GUI
with it, to make it a lot friendlier to work with. When you
start the GUI it should ask you if you want to use the
"Wizard" or the "BeSweet GUI". Select the Wizard.
You might like this GUI better:
http://corecodec.org/frs/download.php/195/BeLight-0.21.exe
It'll extract the audio from your file whether it is AC3 or
MP2. It's pretty straight forward, and you can use the 16 bit
stereo .wav in your version of Cool Edit, I think.
Could you please supply the current download address of Cooledit? They aren't there anymore, they sold out to Adobe.
I thought Adobe had taken them over? I saw the Adobe version being used
and it looked nothing like my version. The screen was crammed with fancy
graphics, but where is the simple but powerful original interface?
Thanks for your advice so far, with some patience you may even get through
to my 72 years old Brain.
Regards,
Max.
