What was commonly called a 'blue box' is actually a cabled extension of
the Pinnacle DV500 (Premiere 6.5 package) video card bought some years ago
whereby audio and video appliances can be connected in and out (RCA and
S-video connections) more conveniently.
Presently, I have an Amiga 1084 4:3 monitor connected to it to check
interlace flicker etc.
What is a good small widescreen TV monitor?
Some brand monitors may be more suited than others. Someone may have such
a setup. Would any brand be OK?
Your question has nothing to do with Premiere, and likely nothing
to do with Pinnacle, either. If you re-state your posting leaving out
the Premiere and Pinnacle noise, you might get better answers.
Particularly recommend leaving out any mention of Pinnacle as many
people here won't even read or reply to Pinnacle postings because
it is so problematic, unreliable and quirky. And those who DO seem
to be able to make it work spend their time here just defending it rather
than helping other Pinnacle users.
It would also be helpful to state your location and your budget and
tell us whether you want a *reference monitor* (one which you can
rely on to make qualitative image adjustments) or just a *picture
monitor* so you can see what the picture looks like on a TV screen
(vs. a computer screen).
Note further that there are likely few CRT monitors that are widescreen
and small, and that LCD monitors are highly unlikely to be worthy of
*reference monitor* status unless you plan on paying many thousands
of <insert your local currency here> for it.
