Vegas to Final Cut Pro Convert Question

Hey...I've been using Final Cut Pro for a while now (about 2 years),
however I still use Vegas Video on occasion, as it was my software of
choice before FCP....

My favorite feature (and pretty much the main reason I used Vegas
believe it or not) was the one function that allows you to change the
speed of the clip by resizing it (Ctrl+dragging the end of clip). This
allowed you to extend or slim down enough of the clip to completely
fill in the gap between 2 other clips without losing frames. The only
way I've been able to achieve this in Final Cut Pro is to keep changing
the speed of the clip using a numerical value, using guess and check
until you fill in the gap.

I figured SOMEONE out there would love this feature in Vegas and know
if there was a way to do it in Final Cut Pro, or at least a workaround
that was easier than my guess and check method :-)

Thanks,
JEFF
