Re: What else besides the Sony DCR-TRV480for converting HI-8 and 8mm to digital?

I failed to mention, the CCD-TRV138 does not perform analog to digital
conversion.

I use a Canopus ADVC-100 for that.

I think the TRV-480 that was mentioned above has a digital to analog
converter built in.

I couldn't find any TRV-480's for sale as new on the web.

By the way, beware of the TRV-480E (the model ending in E) because it's PAL
not NTSC. I did find a few "E's" for sale as new.
