Hi,
I'm building a PC to use for audio and music production and I would
like it to be as quiet as possible. For my PC monitor I need a video
card that meets these requirements.
1) Eats up as little system resources as possible. I'm not quite sure
how this works, but I understand that a video card can do some
processing in the card itself, where other (cheaper) video cards pass
the job onto the CPU of the workstation.
2) Has no built on fan. I want as few noise sources as possible.
3) Not too expensive. Less than $150. Less that $100 is even better.
4) Supports a standard 17" monitor @ 56(m)hz
5) PCI or AGP
... Or at least some direction in what to look for.
Since this group is dedicated to video work, I figured someone might
have an idea about this.
Thank you in advance,
~ Lauren
Video card support is only available if the specific software app you use supports it. Typically, its on the higher end applications. So, as the type of video card you use will have little of any effect. Therefore, any inexpensive card will do for you. The good old Matrox G450 Dual card sits in my box. Silent and stable.
