Sorry, I may have been unclear on the AV->DV OUT. The included mini-plug/RCA
cable would hook to the output of the VCR and the small end to the
camcorder. Then the 1394 cable to the computer. Hit play in the capture
module to open the 1394 input then play from the VCR.

I'm having trouble with my Sony TVR480. It's suppose to play analog 8mm
tapes and output them to my computer in digital format, but I can't seem
to make that happen. The tapes play, but I only get output from the USB
port, which I guess is an analog signal. When I do this, the audio is out
of sync with the video. I got a firewire cable and hooked it to that port,
but I get no signal when I play an 8mm tape. It works fine if I play a
tape recorded with the TVR480. The TVR480 is also suppose accept input
from a VCR and convert it to digital and output that to the computer
through the firewire (i.LINK, IEEE 1394). Does anyone know what could be
wrong? I followed the directions on page 116 of the manual, which
basically says make sure [A/V --> DV OUT] --> [ON], which I did. I hate to
mention I'm trying to capture with Studio 10.5, but I got it before I read
about the problems with it here. I don't think that's the problem since it
works with a tape recorded digitally on the TVR480. TIA for any help.
