APP 1.5 only imports 30 seconds of video

I am trying to import an avi file into Adobe Premier Pro 1.5. The file is 23Gb in size. Problem is, when it imports there's only 33
seconds of the first bit of it and then it ends. I can play the file in Windows Media Player and it plays the full length video -
1hour 47 minutes. Why is APP only importing the first 33 seconds?
