Poor Colors on my Panasonic Mini DV

I was shocked how poor colors I was getting on my Panasonic PV DV 600
(model 2000) when I saw an even older sony handycam producing great
contrasts and beautiful greens.The low light capability is also awful
(5 Lux ) it cost be $ 800 but I am thoroughly disappointed and would
always prefer Sony products.
Any views.
