"GUI for DVDAuthor" is a freeware front-end to DVDAuthor (actually
different to the one you mention - there are about 3 front-ends for
Windows that I have found). See http://www.videohelp.com/~gfd/ for
more info. DVDAuthor is a freeware DVD authoring package. The front
end prog generates the xml files which DVDAuthor processes.
One of the reasons I am using this software rather than the commercial
software is that I want to use subtitles, which my current software
(admitedly, only the ULead software that came with my Pioneer DVD
burner) does not support. I am archiving my DV tapes to DVD. I am
extracting the date/time info using DV_Datecode (again, freeware) as a
..sub file and feeding it into DVDAuthor. This way, I have a record of
the date & time without an imprint always on the screen. I have pretty
much got this working except for the 2 issues which I listed in the
original mail.
My title screens are not very elaborate - blank background and a button
that says 'click here to play". Unfortunately I can't get them to be
as simple as I want - only one menu!
If anyone can point me in the direction of a user group for DVDAuthor
please do so.
Thanks.
