Sloppy use of terminology. "Capture from DV source via Firewire to a
directory on an external USB 2 drive" is what I meant. You caused me to
doubt. I thought maybe I was capturing to a IEEE 1334 drive. So, I just
captured DV25 from a camera to the USB2 drive. No dropped frames. All
normal. I'm using Vegas 5. It doesn't seem to know how my drives show up.
Whatever is there (IDE, SATA, External Firewire, External USB 2) seems to
work.
