If this is a common post, I apologize--not able to find FAQ.
I'm getting washed-out video when capturing/previewing capture. Just stopped working one day--no obvious reason.
Does it just appear "washed out" when viewing on your computer monitor? What is the desired end-product here? Are you making things that will be viewed on computer screens, or are you making (for example) DVDs for people to view on their TV sets?
Assuming you have thought really hard and can't remember ANY THING else happening to your computer that day?
Have since replaced computer guts including firewire interface, operating system and all applications. Also, have since replaced camcorder--really thought that might fix it--dang! I think the only thing I haven't replaced is the cable--seems like that might be it, BUT had the same video problem when capturing using USB cable.
Many of us would have tried replacing the cheapest things first. :-) OTOH, it is very doubtful that the cable in a digital process flow could cause this kind of problem.
Capture problems with: Windows Movie Maker, Pinnacle Studio 9, Adobe Premiere 6 and Adobe Premiere Elements--
I'm pretty sure it's not the software.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
Did you change anything in the computer video? Settings? Monitor? Cable? Video card? etc. etc. etc.
Not clear whether it just *looks* "washed-out" on your
computer, or whether the files REALLY have a problem?
I would bet against the latter.
