You might get a better response from the Pro NGs instead
of a rec NG. There are plenty of pro lurkers here though.
From a casual observer's point of view, You might want to
approach this from the direction of what processes you
intended to implement and the software that you will want to
use. For example; if you will be using www.seriousmagic.com 's
"DV Rack", then you would want to be sure your laptop met
the requirements for that software. The same goes for any
extra hardware like attached storage.
