I'd agree, althugh the OP mentioned buying a new camera (or rather
waiting for it to arrive) - I guessed he wouldn't have a VCR to edit
with (I could be completely wrong of course).
Workflow issues are sometimes the worst to get over, and many people
(myself included at times) take it out on the equipment rather than find
a better way to work. I am improving though (or at least I hope I am).

The former of which is desirable of course. I've only ever once got to
the end of a tape once on a project - maybe I've just been too cautious.

Which is when I learnt all about it - early on thankfully, when it came
to the more important shoots (rather than college projects) I had it
pretty well licked.
