What car to expect in Hawaii (Budget)

We just got back from Hawaii--Kauai--and we rented a car through Avis or
Alamo. The car sizes are just like on the mainland. We rented a little
Neon and did just fine. Got a great rate over the internet. Gas there was
$3.55 a gallon. Well worth it though to see all the beauty of the island.
Absolutely love it and want to go back! Very different than on Oahu.
