New England Romantic Weekend Ideas?

I'm looking for some ideas. Hubby and I are hoping for someplace we
could get away to for a weekend to reconnect. We are from Maine and
hoping to stay in New England just incase we need to get home for the
kids. We would like to somewhat close to a city where we could go do
something if we chose to. Hoping to travel within the next month or 2.
