Re: Best/cheapest way from EWR to F-line with just carry on?

If the bus/train together totals $5 that is a good rate... personally, I
take the NJTransit train which goes direct from EWR to NYP (see
http://www.njtransit.com/) for about $14. Regarding subways, the "A"
connects with the "F" if you're going downtown (toward Brooklyn) at West 4th
St., as do the locals "C" and "E" from NYP; all are on 8th Ave., while the
"F" is a 6th Ave. train... but verify that you don't in fact need to go
uptown--toward Queens in the F's case, in which case--depending on your
final destination, it may be best to take the uptown "E" and switch to the
"F" in Queens. Be aware that you can only purchase single ride ($2) subway
fare cards from the vending machines. If you'll be in the city for any
length of time and using subways and buses other options (e.g., a weekly
"all you can ride card") may be a better value.

The Port Authority site suggests bus to Newark Penn and train to NY Penn.
($5)

After that, it would seem A -> F. ($2?)

Any thoughts?
