My wife and I would love to try a couple of nights at the Ahwahnee. I
know it's expensive, and I'm OK with that. My question is, was it a
memorable experience?
I definitely think you should try it once. I've stayed there a
couple of times (back when it was still in the $200/night range!),
and it was fine, but now I've been there, done that. But if you
never have, it will be fun. Besides, if the weather is bad, it's
great not having to go outdoors to get to food! Or you can even
call room service. Can't do that at the Lodge or Curry. ;-)
Be sure to take the lobby tour. I think they run it at 2:00 p.m.
daily, but check with the concierge. And, of course, eat dinner
in the Ahwahnee dining room at least once.
And let me know if they're still putting little rubber duckies
in the bathtubs. Unfortunately, they weren't doing that back
when I last stayed there. On the other hand, for the extra
couple hundred they're charging now, I could buy a lot of
rubber duckies myself. ;-)

device--similar to your television, but much more advanced."
"Think it gets Showtime?"
