This is a big country.
The difference between the hottest day time temp and coolest can be
over 100F degrees.
In considering Vegas you are going to one of the hottest places in No
Cal. By considering
Death Vally, you are planning on going to one of the hottest places on
the planet.

A *really* important tool for exploring is www.wunderground.com. You
can find out the
average weather for any particular day. Fr'instance LV on June 19th -
the average daytime
high is 100F, with the max being 114F.

Expect the same, or worse for DV.

Of course, if you went right now, you would find both places quite
wonderful. 60s - 70s.

I know a lot of my UK relatives would be interested in experiencing
that sort of heat, but
I think they would regret it.

If you want to plan a trip like that, I suggest you go earlier, or plan
a different trip to see some
of the national parks - and end up in San Francisco - with has a year
round climate that
will make you feel right at home. But, we careful of that too - some
are still snowed in.

No problem. I have two things going for me. 1. I have undergone extreme
heat training and know how to treat many of the problems that arise from it.
Also prevent them in the first place by taking the correct counter measures.
2. Mum has experienced heat up and over the kind that you get in DV. Also we
are hiring a well equipped car. Thanks for the heads up though.
