Move to Denver?

I've been considering making a move to Denver but I'm really not sure
what area I should move to. I'm 24 years old and enjoy the outdoors
but also the convenience of a city. I will probably be making the move

solo so I would want to be in an area where I could quickly meet new
people. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Should I go
downtown? Stay outside the city?
