Canadian Rockies in 7 days

Hi,

I have 7 days in Vancouver in September and I'd like to go and see the
Rockies.

Given the time constraints, is it overly ambitious to drive Vancouver -
Jasper - Banff - Calgary - Vancouver in 7 days? Or would it be better
to fly from Vancouver to Calgary and then drive from Calgary to Jasper
and back, then fly back to Vancouver?
