A Swedish woman gave birth to a baby girl in the Kazakh airspace on a Finnair flight from Bangkok to Helsinki.

Do they allow women to travel on planes in the 9th month of pregnancy?

Probably, if she doesn't tell them (and either isn't "showing" much or is so obese they don't notice). I've heard tales of women giving birth when they didn't know they were pregnant, but I think those are apocryphal. (Other people may not have known, but how could the mother-to-be not notice?)
