First plans for the Warsaw metro were introduced in 1925. Only 83 years later the first north-south bound metroline opens for public. The 20 kilometre line is composed of 23 stations.

Congratulation. As I can see you've found some old newspaper from 1995 and didn't reflect about the publishing year.
The first metro line (being north-south bound) opened April 1995 and the fact there's a metro in Warsaw is well-known for most travellers

As you can see the article dates on 26.10.2008. It is true that the text can be considered misleading. The metro has been operational since 1995. However, the article knows to tell that thousands of people were out to celebrate the completion of the line.
You said in the headline : "first metroline opens today" and then

Without the smallest source and it's simply not true. First metro opened 1995.
It is true alright. The 23 station line (first of it's kind in Warsaw) was completed today.
So how do you know it's completed ? Possibly they'll extend the line sometime in the future ?

The freaking article told so. You have a bit of snot on your nose and you feel most frustrated when not knowing how to wipe it out.
