Not you but others here keep going on about how Germans cannot be held to
blame for what happened in the war, yet there are enough complaints that
they aren't behaving as they should.
I wonder what exactly the photo-shop owner should actually have done to
keep the customer happy? He had nothing to do with the situation, and I'm
sure he's seen enough in the regular television documentaries and newspaper
articles that still crop up over the last 50 years.
I wasn't unhappy. I was simply surprised at his reaction. I
had expected him to simply scan past the photos as he had
for those before them, checking them for quality, not
content.
He was the one with a problem, not me.
I would not consider school trips to Auschwitz for German
children, in the same way as I saw them on school trips to
other sites, as "rubbing their noses in it". I do consider
that teaching them sanitised history, such as that taught in
Japan, is a very unwise education.
