Sigh. Why do you use metric? Probably not because of any great love for
submultiples of the diameter of the earth. You use it because everybody
else in your society uses it. Ditto for imperial units.
First of all I find it unbelievable somebody would jump in in defense of
imperial measures.
There is a simple reason why metric measures are better: the subunit are
all in base 10, which is the base in use for calculations.
