Be sure to take a ride on the London Eye...the view of London is
spectacular! The London Walks are very interesting also.

Seconded.
I am a Londoner and have done a few London Walks, and found them
excellent, showing me details of London I did not know.
The guides are often actors who can give entertaining presentations.

Also a river trip is good if you have time, e.g. Westminster (near Big
Ben) to Greenwich where you can seen the Merdien, Observatory (with its
new Planetarium), Maritime Museum, Queens Palaces, and the old Naval
College/Hospital (now Greenwich University - try to see the Painted Room).
If you go by river, come back on the DLR to Canary Wharf. The train winds
though the Canary Wharf complex on an elevated line with fururistic
stations. Try to get the front seats for a great view (there is no driver,
the trains are automated).

I'll second (third) everything RAK said about London Walks and Greenwich,
and add Churchill's Cabinet War Rooms -- the underground bunker used by the
government during the bombing of London.

I found the Cabinet War Rooms surprisingly dull. The time would be better
spent at the Imperial War Museum.

Speaking of which, try to get to the Imperial War Museum at
Duxford. If you don't have a cart this might involve train to
Cambridge and teh bus to Duxford. Duxford is the air museum.
