What's funeral money?
There are superstitious Chinese who believe that if you burn special
"hell money", your relatives in the afterlife will receive it. They
are colorful bills, usually with a lot of red (the Chinese good luck
color), and with huge numbers on them (often involving the Chinese
good luck number 8, like $888,888). In Hong Kong, I saw stores which
carried cardboard models of cars, jewelery, and VCRs which you burn
for the same purpose.
