I think the Chinese language is tonal unlike Korean and Japanese and thus there is a distinct "Chinese accent". The structure of the Chinese language is not all that hard, it's learning to say the necessary tones properly and memorizing, what is it?, 10 000 characters. My son studied Japanese and found the language difficult, perhaps there is a mutual problem with Japanese in speaking English.
