During an upcoming 8 day stay in Barcelona, we're considering a day
trip to Sitges with our 2 college-age daughters. I've heard it's
beautiful there. My husband says he'd feel uncomfortable since it has a
reputation as a gay resort.
There's an "Irish Bar" in Sitges which a couple of years ago when I
visited had a sign saying- "we're not a gay bar!" He could hang out
there if the sight of gay people makes him uncomfortable. It certainly
doesn't seem to bother the huge numbers of non-gay tourists who visit
the resort.
Anyone been there, care to comment?
I don't personally think it is that beautiful- it's 'nice', but can be
crowded, but maybe not when you're there. It's worth a visit or stay IMO
though. We were there in late May 04 FWIW. It does have a large number
of gay tourists and residents, but it's quite mixed.
