I guess the current airline security flail has completely blown "one bag"
travel out of the water. That is unless you plan to leave you toothpaste,
shampoo, aftershave and all other jells and liquids at home. So tell me, is
it still possible to purchase tooth powder?

You generally don't need these things during your flight. Leave them
at home and buy more at your destination.

How about overnight flights from America's West Coast? You may be willing to go twelve hours and more without brushing your teeth, but there are those of us who are not!

Also, not all brands are available in all countries, and some of us are committed to those we normally use. Bad enough that different water sources affect one's hair differently, without having to change one's shampoo, as well!

It isn't a big deal. I can even survive American beer (but NOT Budweiser). Just think of Lewis and Clark.

"Just lie back, grit your teeth and think of England"? :-) I never had that much "pioneer spirit" when I was young (I'm a city gal, and I travel to enjoy the art and culture of other countries). I CERTAINLY don't intend to "rough it" more than I must, now! Fortunately, I had not yet made plans for my next European jaunt - looks now as though that may never happen.
