First timer to Europe here. What do you do with your passport while
traveling, once you're through customs and in the country of destination? Do
you carry it with you at all times, keep it in your hotel room, keep it in
room safe, keep it in hotel safe? And what about copies of the passport?
Some tell me to make copies of passport and put it in each piece of luggage.
In any of the scenarios above except maybe the hotel safe, it seems you run
the risk of it being stolen. So, what's the reasonable thing to do without
being paranoid about it all? Thanks!
I keep mine in a front pocket at all times. No paranoia, just caution.
Read the information in the front of your passport. "Tips for
Travelers" #3 says to make two copies of the ID page.
