prescription drugs, filling in foreign country

OK, latest, I never thought about it untill now and need the information
personally question. I use Xalatan drops to control glaucoma, It is a
prescription med in the US. I will be in Europe and can't tell if I have
enough to cover the trip. Will a US prescription be honored in Germany or
Austria, or even needed. My favored answer will be from someone in one of
those countries who does me the favor of actually asking at a pharamacy and
for that I give abundant thanks in advance.
(and yes, I could take an extra bottle, but the stuff technically times out
after a few weeks and technically needs refrigeration to keep it from
timing out so . . .)
