Corsica is known for the beaches (and for diving)
but imho much more interesting is the mountaineous
part for hiking (in addition to motorbike rides).
Sandy beaches are mostly central and southern
part of the east coast, center is covered by mountain
ranges up to more than 2000m (even some ski-lifts!)
Train (surprise ?) is an option for discovering part
of the country - great way, looks like a tourist
attraction but still is regular train service

Places to visit imho
Bonifacio
Propriano
Porto-Vecchio
mountain towns such as Vescovato, Loreto, Peinta, Ocagnano
Lots of links at

including some links to Corse cuisine ... .
Be aware that Corsica is a relatively expensive place
(compensated by - or due to ? - French government
subsidies). Some internet sites recommend(ed)
travelling to Corsica via Sardinia (less expensive?)
And sorry: no first hand info on Sardinia
Have a great trip!
