And apparently you are both so stupid you don't understand the meaning of "spam" as used on the internet! If you had troubled to follow the link, you would have seen a photo of Christmas lights (presumably in Leiden). Since Leiden is in Europe, and there was no advertising text involved, Martin's post certainly did not fit any definition of spam. Although posting photos directly to Usenet Newsgroups is frowned upon, SFAIK it is perfectly acceptable to post a link to a photograph one wants to share - many posters do so every day.
