Wanadoo has a green list to by now they get through. And a red list
and a key word list. But they filter most of the stuff without
my interventions
I run through spam list now and then to check. Since we run a
news letter for people who got interested in the prisoner
we aided, we have to check to make sure that an odd communication
is not misfiled.

Talk friendly, that sort of thing, is part of the smile. Visiting the US
requires shifting gears, one has to develop at least two personas. Visiting
the UK is another thing. Understanding those English variations is
difficult. I have considersable frequency dropout in my hearing and an
hearing aid does not help, the over 4000 cycles or so are just lost.
But by "switching frequencies" I mean that American culture is on a
different cultural frequencies. One does not shake hands all the time
in the US, nor say "pardon" constantly. But one should act friendly
in the US, it is not required nor even recommended in France.
I joke a lot in French. For instance, at the end of a building meeting
at the studio we own the other day (the building was actually a "whore
house" in the 1930s), after voting a lot of work, I asked the syndic (and
others) if we could have a Historical plaque put on the building saying that
on this spot during the 1930s was a "Maison Close". I added, that that "peut
ajouter la valeur". Now that did bring down the house at that moment since
people were tired, stressed out from having to vote a lot of expensive work,
and irritated. Perfect moment for a joke.
As you know the French are very attached to money and of course the work was
voted with the goal of adding to the value of the property. Our own
building is hassling through the issue of putting in an elevator, which if
installed would add value to the apartments on the upper floors. The value
added is higher than the cost of the installation for the upper floors
(maybe 30% for the 5th floor, but 0 for the first floor).
