Look, I don't agree with what this guy did (sounds like a lawsuit in the making) but John, you've been flaunting the rules for years on this newsgroup and you've ruined it. The charter of this group explicitly says "no advertising", yet you do it every day. People have called you on it, asked you nicely (and some not so nicely) to stop yet you refused. And oh, btw, Ray is no better. Had you followed the rules as anyone in a business should, you would have been free from this screwball's harassment but you continue to go against the rules.
I had been an almost daily visitor to this ng since my first cruise in '01 but last year I finally had enough of your plagiarist posts and started using the cruisecritic.com instead. It is moderated so people like you are not welcome. Clean your act up John and maybe, just maybe people will leave you alone.
I came across this newsgroup several months ago when I really wanted some information about a cruise. I didn't find what I was looking for but I continued to look at postings (and very occasionally contribute) for reasons that I suspect are masochistic. It is the funniest ng I have ever seen, but I don't think that the denizens of it really look at it in that light. Most of the exchanges are of items which refer only to one person and should really be the subject of e-mail. And it is so totally arrogant in that the inmates of the group are so US-centric and make forays to the great outside world without ever really, in the cultural sense, departing from the U S of A. In lots of ways it is almost incestuous. And then we have Travel Agents of various persuasions posting news releases of mind-bogglingly unimportant trivia at incessantly frequent intervals just so that they can include their web addresses in their sig. Ninety per cent plus of it is just puerile almost beyond description.
