The lesson I've learned from this is to bring all email communications I
may have with a hotel along with reservation documents. Also, be sure
to confirm charges, fees, and taxes before arrival. Then if anything
is hinkey, produce said documents and show them to the manager. Then if
a room change is required to fix things, make it clear to the manager
that since the mix up was their fault that no additional charges are
expected or will be paid. If fact your hotel manager would be in remiss
if he didn't comp you for the first night of your stay.
Well the room was pre-paid with Priceline, and they did change
us to the room with 2 double beds, so it was not that big a
deal. And I was never told of any additional charges. I'm
assuming it was just a screwup on their part, but I am letting
AMEX handle it since it was so easy to file a dispute on their
website.
