This is a short and sweet review.
Had a very nice time.
2nd time on Princess - 18th cruise in all.
Overall Grade: C-

Hi Rick!
First of all, welcome back and thanks for the review.

At Check in was given a blue card instead of a
gold card. No big issue I kept the blue card for the entire cruise.
Went to the Captin Circle Desk and spoke to Pam. Who was very sorry but
did nothing to correct this simple simple issue.

The best part of this ship was the mini suite. 2nd time in a mini
suite. Large, lots of storge space and a bath tub. Balcony on deck 9
are small and there is "zero" privacy. Deck 10 mini suites has an
oversize balcony and partial deck cover. Cabin service was good.
Except for the condom found in one of the night stand drawers. Makes
you wonder how good these cabins are really cleaned. Thats why we take
a Clorox Wipes. Not 1 towel animal in two cabins (1 forward, 1 aft)
the entire week.

We always take Clorox Wipes with us too..apparently, the crew does not go
through the drawers to check if anything was left behind...I remember
finding a dried up buttered roll in one of the drawers...don't remember
which ship that was on but I did bring it to the cabin steward's
attention....But I think with the quick turnover when a ship disembarks its
passengers and the next passengers begin boarding early, things like this
are likely to be overlooked.. I will be more tolerant when they tell us that
our cabins will not be ready until 1 pm and for us to go to the buffet for
lunch when boarding at noon...

Food was average at best. Nothing stood out as being exceptional. In
room Cabin Breakfast is very limited. Almost an exact copy of Carnivals
in-room dining. Room service and Horizon Court also was very limited
and no direction. People going in every direction there is no
organization to the buffet areas. Cafe Caribe is nice but their menu
should be posted in the "Patter" so you know what the menu is each day.
Omelet & egg station is not marked in the Horizon Court. It wasn't
until the 5th day we even knew it was there. Pizza was great....thin
floppy crust. My favorite.

We were on the Caribbean Princess in January of 2005 and I remember the
stations in the buffet areas being as you said with
people going all different directions...but that is because the stations
are not one continuous line but made up of islands. I also think that
Carnival, Princess and HAL have the best pizza.

Duty Free Shops - Smokes are only reserved and delivered the last
evening of the cruise. Just like the liquor. No cartons may be
purchased and taken to your cabin. Have never experienced this on any
other line before.

Tenders - 3 out 4 stops was tender service. I don't know what Princess
is thinking if they think this process is the best. You meet in a
lounge mid ship. Then you parade all around the ship and down about 2
or 3 flights of stairs then you go down yet another flight of stairs and
get on the tender. Everyone thought this process was just stupid.

We did not have this problem, but perhaps our itinerary was different from
yours...I don't like tendering and unless we are on a cruise sponsored
excursion, we get off after10 am when there are no tender tickets nor long
lines involved.

Attitude of employees not the best. One Cabin steward yelled at a
member of our party because they requested a firmer bed from guest
services. The cabins steward actually yelled inside their cabin that he
should have been paged and they had no right to complain to guest
services. Also had some attitude from a couple of waiters in the Coral
Dining room. First night we found a 1/4 eatten roll in the bread
basket. It was exchanged but didn't leave a good first impression.
Also some wrong orders and obvious disliking that we pointed it out.

Unbelievable! Wow..wonder what is going on with that crew? I hope that cabin
steward was duly reported and disciplined! 1/4 of a roll means that they
did not start out with a fresh basket! Gotta' watch for that on the Crown
Princess in August!
As far as service in the cabin and dining room when we were on the Caribbean
Princess, we had no complaints. We also like Princess and I hate to see this
happening...

All in all Royal Caribbean and Carnival are my favorite lines. I would
like to try Celebrity one day but only in a balcony cabin. I know some
people in the group really like Princess. But it just isn't for me. I
think alot had to do with the attitudes we kept encountering. Just left
a bad taste and impression.

I hope after our cruise on the Crown in August, I will still be able to say,
don't give up on Princess...you just had a very bad overall experience this
time. Sorry..;-(
