This is a short and sweet review.
Had a very nice time.
2nd time on Princess - 18th cruise in all.
Overall Grade: C-
At Check in was given a blue card instead of a
gold card. No big issue I kept the blue card for the entire cruise.
Went to the Captin Circle Desk and spoke to Pam. Who was very sorry but
did nothing to correct this simple simple issue.
The best part of this ship was the mini suite. 2nd time in a mini
suite. Large, lots of storge space and a bath tub. Balcony on deck 9
are small and there is "zero" privacy. Deck 10 mini suites has an
oversize balcony and partial deck cover. Cabin service was good.
Except for the condom found in one of the night stand drawers. Makes
you wonder how good these cabins are really cleaned. Thats why we take
a Clorox Wipes. Not 1 towel animal in two cabins (1 forward, 1 aft)
the entire week.
Food was average at best. Nothing stood out as being exceptional. In
room Cabin Breakfast is very limited. Almost an exact copy of Carnivals
in-room dining. Room service and Horizon Court also was very limited
and no direction. People going in every direction there is no
organization to the buffet areas. Cafe Caribe is nice but their menu
should be posted in the "Patter" so you know what the menu is each day.
Omelet & egg station is not marked in the Horizon Court. It wasn't
until the 5th day we even knew it was there. Pizza was great....thin
floppy crust. My favorite.
Duty Free Shops - Smokes are only reserved and delivered the last
evening of the cruise. Just like the liquor. No cartons may be
purchased and taken to your cabin. Have never experienced this on any
other line before.
Tenders - 3 out 4 stops was tender service. I don't know what Princess
is thinking if they think this process is the best. You meet in a
lounge mid ship. Then you parade all around the ship and down about 2
or 3 flights of stairs then you go down yet another flight of stairs and
get on the tender. Everyone thought this process was just stupid.
Attitude of employees not the best. One Cabin steward yelled at a
member of our party because they requested a firmer bed from guest
services. The cabins steward actually yelled inside their cabin that he
should have been paged and they had no right to complain to guest
services. Also had some attitude from a couple of waiters in the Coral
Dining room. First night we found a 1/4 eatten roll in the bread
basket. It was exchanged but didn't leave a good first impression.
Also some wrong orders and obvious disliking that we pointed it out.
All in all Royal Caribbean and Carnival are my favorite lines. I would
like to try Celebrity one day but only in a balcony cabin. I know some
people in the group really like Princess. But it just isn't for me. I
think alot had to do with the attitudes we kept encountering. Just left
a bad taste and impression.
