Re: Silversea Cruises - Southeast Asia

I've got to ask, compared to what? Not knowing what your cruise
experiences include, it's a little hard to tell you what to expect.
Joe, in his post has delivered to you the gross concept of a 5 Star
Plus experience, but you are asking a question about a cruise line that
is typically regarded as the best small ship cruise line in the world.
Your question should have been addressed in detail to you by your agent
and you should extensive information that is available from the cruise
line providing detailed explanations of their service and amenities.
You do have a travel agent don't you?

Peter,

Actually, my wife and I are well traveled. The only experience I have on a
large ship was a 5-day trans-Atlantic crossing on the QE2 (Britain to New
York) back in 1979. This trip would be a combination of 4 days in Hong
Kong, then 12 days on the sea, arriving in Bangkok, where my wife and I will
spend another week or so. I inquired and made a provisional booking
directly through the Silversea website with follow up through their company.
They have provided excellent reading material and answered all my questions.
I was really looking for reviews and the thoughts of other passengers who
have used this cruise line and experienced the type of journey we are
contemplating.

I also noticed there is no difference in pricing between various websites
and using Silversea's website. Many websites seem to use the same portal to
obtain pricing, which was the same as Silversea's pricing.

I am nearly 60 and my wife is nearly 50. The smaller ship, 5-star rating,
and quality of service seem to be what we are looking for. We are not
millionaires, but Silversea seems to offer competitive pricing and we have
found few other cruise lines offering the same experience in Southeast Asia.
We find the trip cancellation insurance rather high (due to medical
emergency) and wonder if there are more reasonable alternatives.

Thank you for your reply to my post.

Rick
