Yes,people are separated. As a matter of fact,they probably won't be on
the same train. The White Pass normally backs the train onto your
pier,meaning you don't have to go into town. Tour groups also get their
own cars. On our cruise,there were several different groups on the ship
and each got their own car with the rest of the cruise passengers
getting cars of our own. As a matter of fact,our cruise,because we were
in town on a weekend,booked the railroad's only steam train for us
(they may have a second steam locomotive in service by this summer). We
found the extra cost for booking through the cruise to be only a few
dollars and well worth it. Depending on your cruise line,you may have
options such as going up by rail and back by bus,etc. This shore
excursion is a "don't miss".
