Re: Electrical strips/Grand Princess

Pardon my ignorance and/or lack of imagination, but what the heck is
being plugged in that needs so many plugs?

I don't take anything on a cruise that needs to be plugged in. Granted,
I use a straight razor and carry a wind-up travel clock, but that's only
two items that might otherwise need electricity.

Cheers,
Daniel

Tobie,
I have power bars all over my place because it is easier to plug into
one of them sitting up high than to crawl around on the floor in order
to try to get to an outlet.
On a ship one has to be careful how much one asks of one outlet.
If you have been doing it, and it works, forget I said anything.
I have never found the need for an extra outlet.

That is correct. The six outlet plug-i thingy requires a double outlet
to plug it into. On most ships the only 120 volt outlet is a single,
three wire outlet that is in a recessed, round, plug in.
We always take a short six-out power bar which plugs into the single
outlet fine.

Dear Monica,
On some ships the 6 outlet version will not fit
into the outlets because the outlets are non-standard and may have
things mounted right next to them.
What I was thinking of was the "Power Squid"

all sorts of problems. Enjoy your trip,

John, I'm wondering if we're talking about the same thing (multiple
sockets on one
plug). What I'm talking about is a about the size of two decks of cards
and has 6 sockets. Plugged in it...oh heck! A picture is worth a
thousand hard to find words <g>
This is just 3 outlets. I'd need to bring a 6 ct outlet. Thanks,
Monica

It depends on what you are trying to plug in; there is often not much
room by the outlet!
Instead of the strip, consider taking one of those multiple sockets on
one plug things sold at "Geek" shops. It packs very easily. Another
alternative is an extension cord with multiple outlet sets; there may be
one on Christmas Clearance at your local shops. Cheers,

I took one of these last year but I was wondering (for the sake of
clutter) if I could use one of the multiple plug outlets instead of this
strips that takes up room on the dresser. Thanks,
Monica
