I knew I smelled a scam. You confirmed it for me. The website itself is poorly done and is an obvious quick hack.

You know, John has posted so many inaccuracies in the past few days that I don't even know where to start.
1) He recommended Royal Caribbean to a person who wants to see Glacier Bay. Royal Caribbean doesn't go there.
2) He says that Carnival has beer drinking contests. I'd like to know what ship he saw that on. I've actually been on many Carnival cruises and have never seen a beer drinking contest. However... he implies that Princess is more refined. Funny, but the only beer drinking contest I have ever seen was on Princess and I posted about it here on r.t.c. almost three years ago: http://tinyurl.com/cb8fl And it seems that Royal Caribbean (his recommendation) has had some beer drinking contests too: http://tinyurl.com/bqjfs
3) He says Princess is good for the Bingo crowd. Of course, Carnival has twice as many Bingo games than Princess, not to mention their scratch-off kind of games)
4) On one hand he says he doesn't want customers who are just looking for price. On the other hands, he tells people that if they find a cheaper price that he will match it.... and he does it in the same paragraph! "Likewise, quick answers simply means prospective shoppers are just than, not serious or savvy buyers, and will drop one agency over another if they find what they think is $5 cheaper elsewhere. That is not the clientele we seek, for even if a cheaper price is found somewhere else later, we will match it. "In another paragraph he says that he can "offer our competitive price if they have already found what they think is the best price elsewhere."
5) John does not deal directly with the cruise lines...... he books through another company and uses their accounts. He is an "affiliate" agent. He probably doesn't have the time to deal directly with the cruise lines because of his full time job as the "Founding Director of the Manufactured Home Owner's Network" http://www.mfghomeowners.net/index1.htm
John hasn't posted here on r.t.c. for years. A few years ago he came here with a great idea... he would help you choose what cruise was best for you... for a fee. That's right.... I think he charged something like $25 or $50 to talk with you and then tell you which cruise (in his professional opinion) was the best suited for you and then you could go somewhere else and buy it. I see he had branched out to selling cruises now.
Trouble is that John still seems to have problems accepting responsibility
When John is talking about professionalism and the good research and service he gives, he fails to mention his "disclaimer" about the limits of his responsibility in case something goes wrong. It is located here http://www.shiptoshorecruise.com/step5.htm
Let me translate for you. No matter what happens, it isn't John's fault. Even if he is wrong, it isn't John's fault. Even if he has been advised ahead of time that there might be a problem in your future and you listen to him... it isn't his fault.
John says it isn't his fault if you listen to him about anything having to do with Mobile Homes either. http://www.mfghomeowners.net/Responsibility.htm Here is a quote:
"Users of this service agrees that any recommendations are entirely at the user's own risk. "
Do we see a pattern here? Someone with two jobs who touts his professional recommendations... and who disclaims any responsibility for anything he tells you.
And that is the end of my post.
