In the same vein, how many people here are willing to just refund their
cruise tickets and donate the money for the cause?? Come on now, how many??

I've been planning this vacation for a couple years now, I served this
country for over 45 years of my life and now it's time for me to enjoy the
fruits of the freedoms I served to protect. If that means going ahead and
taking my cruise, so be it. I deserve it. If people have a bitch or a
gripe, they really need to go to the White House and ask why the
Administration cut the budget that was ear marked to enhance the levies and
sea walls in New Orleans. Don't come after me. I've donated to the Red
Cross. And what's with all this bitching about Carnival? What about
American Flagged vessels like Holland American Line, Disney, and one or two
others? The rest are all foreign flagged vessels and have the right to
either help out or not, depending upon what their Government's say. So far
as I know, all foreign aid has been respectfully refused. There are plenty
of barges that house workers in that area, as well.

If push came to shove and I was forced to give up my cruise, I would expect
compensation as anyone would that's on a fixed income. I don't have money
to throw away. We retired to enjoy the rest of our lives and that's what
we plan to do. If you and others want to spend the rest of your lives
donating your vacations, money, social security, retirement income, to
causes other than your own survival and well being, so be it. We also pay
our share of taxes and I see that being put to use in a lot of pork barrel
projects. So don't bitch at those not willing to do more than donate, bitch
at the fat cats you elected that are blowing this Nation's revenue down the
drain on useless projects. That money should have been put into the system
in New Orleans so disasters such as this wouldn't happen or to minimize it.

Hell no, I won't give up my cruise after I've already donated to the Red
Cross AND half of my life to this country. What have you done for your
country?

Leaving for Miami on Sunday and enjoying every gas less mile of it.
